The specialisation Sports Management is a business study which provides students with fundamental management expertise and professional skills in the management and supervision of non-profit and commercial sports and healthcare businesses. Fundamental business and economic content, as well as legal and sport content will be adapted with a reference to the industry.
We educate and prepare our graduates for challenging responsibilities in the sports, leisure and health industries. Particular importance is placed on the combination of theory and practice, which is the focus of the dual study.
The profession of sports manager is as multifaceted as sport itself: The management of sports clubs and associations is just as much a potential field of activity as the management of commercial sport facilities, sports venues or sporting goods manufacturers. Sports management and sports marketing have become a complex and global business in which only professionally trained experts have a chance at success. A study programme at the FHSMP prepares you for tasks and responsibilities which go far beyond the immediate field of sports: leadership, personnel management, marketing, financial accounting and controlling, sports law, quality management and strategic planning.
An interest in sports and business economics in theory and practice is a good foundation for the study programme. Ideal is also active participation in a club or association.
